Hey all, I have an issue with members that don't have the time everyday to post a prompt piece and then POST ALL OF THE WEEK'S PROMPTS ON FRIDAYS or any other day.

So far we are a few, so we all fit on the main page. Unfortunately I'm seeing alot of older posts that I missed because they were "bumped" by someone posting all 5 on a single day.  alot of those that got bumped are getting no comments. And the folks that do this (some) are good friends of mine so I feel secure in saying it's just rude. (I even did it myself one week to show how obnoxious it was)

HERE'S AN IDEA:

If you have to cluster, can you just post your Friday piece and then add (ALL WEEK) and then post the previous pieces on the day they were due (BACKDATING).

This way we know by the words (ALL WEEK) that we can just hit "previous post" and it will take us right to the other writer's individual pieces for the days they missed.

Honestly, this site is a daily prompt site, not a weekly. I think we should follow that basic guideline.

It also affords all of us our 12 or so hours on the Home page so that we can all keep up with each other.

ANOTHER SOLUTION: since there are no prompts for Sat and Sun people that need to cluster can post them all on the weekend?

Anybody agree/disagree....I think it's fair. anyone else?

I agree and I have been bumped. thought no comments ment I sucked this time round.
I admit i am guilty of cluster posting as well. I think your suggestion of back dating is excellent. I am a person who will have time to post during the week but will mostly likely always mist the saturday capstone challenge...family time
the capstone is more of an online chat fun (for me)...you can post the capstone during the week and just post date it to 8p on Sat or just add one Monday morning. (voting ends about middle of day)
So you still get family time and don't have to stress about the capstone if you do it early or late!
This post just made me realize i can go back and fix my Sam pieces that are out of order!!!! AWESOME
Interesting idea...I've got a few out of order but then in the end I think i like them all jumbled around. Hmmm
that's a valid idea Paul, thanx
I like the idea. I was planning on doing some date adjustments on mine anyway, so I'll just keep the all week tag in mind.
Good point Alisa.
I like the weekend idea for those playing catch up or cluster.
Ed suggested to me an interesting way to handle series without hogging the board, and both he and I did it to try it out.
If you post on a Monday, and get comments, then write to Tuesday's prompt, you could "edit" your first blog to post Tuesday's work inside of it. Just leave a space between the two days' work.
You can add to the content, change the tags, the title, and the post time without losing your comments, and more comments can be added and carried forward the next day. In that way, you're posting every day, you can keep pushing your one blog up for review, and keep all parts of your series in one place without taking up five spots. And there's no need for linking to all those separate blogs.
Likewise, if you're the type who can only find time to post once, you can just put all five parts in the one blog post to begin with on the weekend. The only problem there with one long post on only one day is you're not likely to get many comments as people are looking to read through quickly and move on. But that's your choice.
the only problem is that I think ? that it would be difficult to access "the vault" for one piece like when Blake does the daily ten? otherwise your + Ed idea is a great solution too!
Had no idea you could post date, but I suppose it's on the posting page and I overlooked it. Thanks for the lesson, and I like the weekend posting for catch up AND spacing out posts by playing with dates/times too. I tend to write in clusters (just comes that way, it builds up and then POW) so I needed to know this information. Don't want to harm anyone else's exposure...great suggestion. :)
considering I forgot I posted this discussion and posted 3 pieces on Friday I probably should quit throwing stones!
Now I don't know what to do. I am on/or moniter several different sites and have had to get rid of three--because I was taking to much time away from my writing and editing. I only write one to two times a week. But! I try to comment on as many of the others stories as I can. I feel we help each other out. My stories don't get too many comments. I wonder if it's becasue I can only contribute once or twice a week, because Im getting bumped, or being chastised ???
